Vintage Concepts was founded in 1981 in Napa, CA and is the creator of the Winelight®. A Winelight® is a ceramic, glass, metal, or marble "cork" with a cotton wick through it that allows any glass bottle or container to be used as an oil lamp.
The Winelight® was first sold in the winery tasting rooms and then to gift shops around the United States. It was developed so that the customer could save that special wine or champagne bottle and when empty recycle it into a decorative and romantic oil lamp. Additionally, crafters began using the Winelight® and often paint or decorate bottles by filling them with dried flowers, silk flowers, etc. use the Winelight® to finish their project into the perfect oil lamp.
The Winelight® is made in nine (9) different sizes to fit virtually any bottle opening from 1/4" to 2 1/4". Additionally, the original Winelight® concept has now been expanded to over 75 styles, everything from the standard ceramic colors to the pewter designs. The company manufactures and distributes various accessories for this main product line. The Winelight® Flame Protector is a glass chimney that fits over the neck of a wine or champagne bottle so that the Winelight® may be used outdoors or in a drafty area.
The company also manufactures the Winelight® Tube Lamp, this product consists of a glass tube that drops down into a bottle and allows lamp oil to be held separate from the bottle's contents. A tube lamp allows the customer to make an oil lamp in a bottle of bath salts, in imported olive oil bottles (while the olive oil is still in them), in sand painting bottles, even in floral arrangements, the uses are limitless. This unit includes the hollow glass tube, a natural Marble Winelight®, and a Flame Protector™.
